Colour Box Studio Craft Cubed – Workshops Day
August 8, 2014 @ 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Colour Box Studio are super psyched to be a part of Craft Cubed this year – it’s pretty much Melbourne’s biggest annual festival of experimental, skilled and ideas-based craft and design!
Aside from our superdooperfantastic Craft Cubed satellite creative workshops, we’ll be representing our creative community at Craft’s Table Top Program in the Atrium, Fed Square on Thursday the 7th and Friday the 8th of August.
On Friday 8th August we’ll be hosting three great drop-in activities by Colour Box Studio regulars, collage artist Nicole Kennedy, 3D printing guru Marinos Drake from Studio Batch, and artist and designer Hayley Scilini from Silly Rabbit. No Bookings needed – just come join the fun.
Our program’s gonna look like this:
10am-1pm: Nicole will inspire and guide you to make your own unique collage artwork – materials provided! (Gold Coin Donation)
1pm-3pm: Quiz Marinos on 3D printing, how it works, and what its possibilities are while watching Studio Batch’s printer in action (FREE!)
3pm-6pm: Create a bright and colourful card (or seven!) with Hayley – an expert explorer of colour and geometric abstraction. ($6 per card/ 2 for $10).
There’ll be a small participation fee for Nicole and Hayley’s drop-in workshops to help cover the artists’ costs.
Colour Box Studio Projects and Events Coordinator Kristina Arnott will be hanging out all day to chat to visitors about our past and future projects and answer questions about our upcoming opportunities for artists and creative workers, and there’ll be a Colour Box Studio Pop Up Shop showcasing local Melbourne makers, designers and artists so that your shopping experience supports your creative community! So many great reasons to head to the Atrium on Friday 8th August!
