Colour Box Studio will be launching its Fashion Program on Wednesday 27th February from 4:30 – 8:30pm. Over a 5 week period which coincides with Melbourne Fashion Week, the Colour Box Studio Fashion Program will be showcasing Melbourne’s Fashion Creatives and focusing on the SELF (Sustainable Ethical Local Fashion) theme.
LAUNCH 27 Feb 4:30-8:30PM will include (FREE ENTRY):• Pop Up Fashion Show with shop labels modelled;• Door Raffle Fashion Prizes & Entertainment;

• Live Internet Radio Broadcast with Rant n Rave Radio 4:30-5PM;

• Photobooth by DA Photography (Photographer Dulce Amor)

The Planning Committee has been working hard to bring this awesome program to you. We’re made up of a team of volunteers, designers, artists, producers and creative people. Studio 941: Make Your Own Hand Painted Silk Scarf with Ida SuodDATE: Wednesday 6th & Wednesday 13th March, 6-9pm (2 sessions)

A 2-session workshop over 2 weeks, skillful silk-painter Ida will guide you through the process of creating your own beautifully hand-painted silk scarf. Participants will learn the various silk-painting techniques, as well as experiment with how to wear their scarf.

Ambette – Design, screenprint & sew your own purse work: 16 & 17 March by Liz Doust. 

Have you ever wanted to make something using your own special fabric? In this 2-day workshop Liz will guide you through the process of turning your idea into a hand-cut stencil, screen-printing it onto fabric, and sewing it into a fab zippered purse to take home.

Fashion Box EVENT

20 March: 5-9PM, SAVE THE DATE – FREE EVENT‘Fashion Box’ will be an Industry Networking night and a Sustainable Ethical Fashion Forum. We are busy getting gift bags organised and other fun networking activities so Industry peeps can meet and swap business cards. The Forum and panel discussion will be around “How to make your business profitable by producing ethical and sustainable fashion.” It will be lead by designer Dale Cornell from New Model Beauty Queen. OTHER Colour Box Studio NEWS

Aacute Label LaunchOn 28 March local emerging designers Julie and Kelly Tran of Aacute will be launching their label. Their motto is “We Make Stuff” and indeed they do. Their candles and jewellery were stocked in our Christmas Pop Up Shop and what a hit they were. They were featured on Frankie online last year. Look our for this event – it’s one not to be missed.
Pop Up Shop Residency• Ida Suod from Studio 941 will be producing hand-painted silk creations on site from 28 Feb – 7 March
CLOTHES SWAP10 MARCH 12-3PM We’re holding a GIANT Clothes swap. Go through your closet and get rid of the items you’re not wearing, bring them along and add to our mega vintage pop up shop then find some new gems to take home for yourself. We’ll put on some food and music. Keep an eye out for more information.
MEDIAWe’ve had the chance to do two local newspaper articles and we’ve got a radio interview coming up with SYN on Tuesday the 26th of Feb at 8am so tune in! Emerging designers pictured above. 
FASHION POP UP SHOP INTERIOR DESIGNERSWe’re so happy to have Practice Makes on board again to fit out our shop front with sustainable fittings and innovative design. Practice Makes is an emerging local studio between Jonathon Kaitler and Christina Fogale. They designed fixtures for our Pop Up Shop in Nov 2012.Thanks Jon and Christina for being part of the team!
Rant n Rave RadioAlex and Greg from Rant n Rave internet radio will be doing their last show at the launch of Fashion Month 27 Feb 4:30-5:00PM. Come join in!
