Carolyn Warren-Langford is a sculptor from Western Australia who is passionate about clay and is the creator of “PyreBorn” Women – sculptures from the pit-fire. She has taught workshops and exhibited in both Perth, at The Metamorphosis Art Gallery, and in Melbourne at Brunswick St Gallery and at the Wyndham Art Prize Exhibition as well as being a participant in Art In Public Places in 2014 and in Wyndham Arts Activate in 2015. “My work is becoming a pantheon of fat-bottomed wild women. Each of my pieces goes through incredible transformations as earth and water are combined, moulded into form and subjected to the flames of the pit fire, to be made stronger and changed forever.”
Currently she is running The Bead Project – a series of workshops for women held throughout Wyndham where the participants make beads with their palm imprinted on them, creating a long necklace, to be exhibited later in 2016.
